Astrobiology
Astrobiology is the interdisciplinary study of the origin, evolution, distribution, and future of life in the universe, combining concepts from Astronomy, Biology, Geology, and Chemistry. This field explores the possibility of life on other Planets, Moons, and Asteroids, as well as the potential for life to exist in extreme environments, such as those found on Mars or in the depths of the Ocean. Astrobiologists use a range of tools and techniques, including Instruments and Observatory facilities, to search for signs of life, such as Biosignatures, in the Universe. The study of Exoplanets and their potential for hosting life is a key area of research in astrobiology, with scientists like Carl Sagan and Neil deGrasse Tyson contributing to the field. Astrobiology also draws on concepts from Chaos theory and Complexity to understand the emergence and evolution of life.
