Cycle notation
Cycle notation is a mathematical concept used to describe Permutations in a compact and efficient way, particularly in the context of Group theory and Combinatorics. It represents a permutation as a product of cycles, where each cycle is a sequence of elements that are mapped to each other in a circular manner. This notation is useful for analyzing and computing properties of permutations, such as their Parity and Order. Cycle notation is also closely related to Graph theory, as it can be used to represent Graph automorphisms and Symmetries in graphs. The concept of cycle notation has been extensively studied by mathematicians, including Évariste Galois, and has numerous applications in Computer science, Cryptography, and Coding theory.
