Electron shells
Electron shells are the regions around an atom's nucleus where electrons are found, and are a fundamental concept in Chemistry and Physics. The arrangement of electrons in these shells determines the chemical properties of an element, and is crucial in understanding Molecular arrangements and Crystal structure. Each shell has a specific energy level, and electrons occupy the lowest available energy levels, following the Law of Motion and the principles of The Standard Model. The electron shells are divided into subshells, which are further divided into orbitals, and the arrangement of electrons in these orbitals determines the chemical reactivity of an element. Understanding electron shells is essential in Materials science and Nanotechnology, and has led to numerous breakthroughs in Energy transition and Electromagnetic research.
