Hydroelectricity
Hydroelectricity is a form of Renewable energy that harnesses the power of moving water to generate electricity. This is achieved by channeling water from a high elevation to a lower elevation, using the resulting kinetic energy to turn a Turbine. The turbine is connected to a Generator, which converts the mechanical energy into electrical energy. Hydroelectricity is a clean and reliable source of energy, producing no Greenhouse gas emissions or Air pollution during operation. It is also a relatively low-cost form of energy production, making it an attractive option for many countries. Dams are often used to create reservoirs of water, which can be released to generate electricity as needed.
