Ligament
A ligament is a type of Connective tissue that connects Bones to other bones or to Cartilage, providing support and stability to Joints. Ligaments are made up of Collagen fibers and are essential for maintaining the integrity of the Skeletal system. They work in conjunction with Muscles and Tendons to facilitate movement and provide structural support. Ligaments can be found in various parts of the body, including the Knee, Elbow, and Ankle joints. Injuries to ligaments, such as Sprains, can be painful and may require Physical therapy or other treatments to heal. Understanding the structure and function of ligaments is important in the field of Anatomical study and Sports medicine.
