Lions
Lions are majestic carnivorous mammals known as the kings of the savannah, belonging to the family Felidae and genus Panthera. They are social animals that live in groups, called prides, which are typically made up of several females, their cubs, and one or more males. Lions are native to Africa and a small part of India, and are known for their distinctive manes, which are the thick hairs around the head, neck, and shoulders of males. They are skilled Hunters and primarily feed on large Ungulates, such as Zebras and Antelopes. Lions play a crucial role in maintaining the balance of their ecosystems, and are considered a Keystone species. Unfortunately, lion populations are declining due to Habitat loss, Human-wildlife conflict, and Poaching.
