Marine ecology
Marine ecology is the scientific study of how organisms interact with each other and their ocean environment, from sunlit coral reefs to the crushing depths of abyssal trenches. It examines the ecological relationships, distributions, and population dynamics of creatures ranging from microscopic photosynthetic plankton to whales, revealing how energy flows through the sea and how nutrient cycles sustain life in saltwater realms.
