Physicalism
Physicalism is a philosophical position that argues that everything in the world can be explained in terms of physical phenomena, and that there is no need to invoke non-physical entities or substances to understand the world. This perspective is closely related to Materialism and Determinism, and is often seen as being in opposition to Dualism and other forms of non-physicalism. Physicalism is a key concept in the philosophy of Mind, and has implications for our understanding of Consciousness and the Nature of Reality. It is also relevant to discussions of Free Will and Moral Responsibility. Physicalist theories have been influential in the development of Science and Scientific Methodology, and have been applied in fields such as Physics and Neuroscience.
