Radiobiology
Radiobiology is the study of the action of Ionizing radiation on living organisms, which has led to a deeper understanding of the effects of Radiation therapy on Cancer cells and the development of new treatments. This field of research combines principles from Biology, Physics, and Chemistry to investigate the interactions between radiation and biological systems, including the Human genome. Radiobiology has numerous applications in Healthcare, particularly in the treatment of cancer, where it informs the development of targeted therapies that minimize damage to healthy cells. The study of radiobiology also involves the use of advanced technologies, such as GIS mapping and Spatial analysis, to analyze and visualize the effects of radiation on different tissues and organs, including the Skin and Glandular system. Furthermore, radiobiology has implications for Environmental pollution and Water pollution, as it helps us understand the impact of radiation on Ecosystems and the Distribution (biology) of radioactive substances in the environment.
