Scholasticism
Scholasticism was a philosophical and theological movement that emerged in the Middle Ages, characterized by a strong emphasis on Aristotle's works and the use of Reason to understand the world. It flourished in the universities of Europe, particularly in Paris and Oxford, where scholars such as Thomas Aquinas and Duns Scotus made significant contributions to the field. Scholasticism sought to reconcile Faith and Reason, and its proponents developed a complex system of Logic and Metaphysics to understand the nature of Reality. The movement had a profound impact on the development of Western Philosophy and Theology, and its influence can still be seen in modern Pedagogy and Scientific writing.
