Chemical informatics
Chemical informatics is an interdisciplinary field that combines Computer science, Chemistry, and Information technology to analyze, visualize, and simulate chemical structures and their properties. It involves the use of Computer simulations and Algorithms to understand the behavior of molecules and their interactions. Chemical informatics is closely related to Bioinformatics and Chemical engineering, and has applications in Drug discovery, Materials science, and Environmental science. The field relies on the development of specialized Software and Databases, such as Molecular modeling tools and Chemical databases. Researchers like Andrew S. Tanenbaum have contributed to the development of Computer scientist-friendly tools for chemical informatics.
