Bioinformatics
Bioinformatics is an interdisciplinary field that combines Computer Science, Mathematics, and Biology to analyze and interpret biological data, often using Quantitative genetics and Information retrieval techniques. It involves the development of Algorithms and Software to understand complex biological systems, such as Genomics and Proteomics. Bioinformaticians use Instrumentation and Experimentation to generate and analyze large datasets, applying principles from Statistics and Machine Learning to identify patterns and relationships. The field has many applications, including Health promotion, Environmental health, and Ethnomedicine. Researchers like Andreas Vesalius have contributed to the foundation of bioinformatics, which continues to evolve with advances in Computer Science and Biology.
