Coastal Geography
Coastal geography is the study of the dynamic interfaces where land meets ocean—spaces shaped by Tides, Waves, and human activity. These zones are Earth's most densely populated and ecologically vital regions, hosting unique ecosystems and supporting billions of people.
Coastal geographers examine how ocean processes sculpt shorelines through erosion and deposition, creating diverse landforms: cliffs, beaches, deltas, and mangrove swamps. They investigate marine ecosystems, food chains sustained by nutrient-rich waters, and the intricate balance between natural processes and human development.
