The dragonfly is a fascinating insect with striking appearance and impressive flight capabilities, belonging to the order Odonata and comprising over 3,000 species. Dragonflies have been on the planet for over 300 million years, with fossil records dating back to the Cretaceous period. These insects are characterized by their large, iridescent wings, long bodies, and formidable predatory abilities, playing a crucial role in Ecosystems as both hunters and prey. Dragonflies undergo a process called Incomplete metamorphosis, where they transform from aquatic larvae to flying adults. Their unique Visual system allows them to detect polarized light and see in multiple directions, making them highly efficient hunters.
