Gregor Mendel

Gregor Mendel was a Austrian monk and botanist who is considered the father of Genetics. He conducted extensive Laboratory experiments on Plant hybridization, particularly with Peas, and discovered the fundamental principles of heredity. Mendel's work on the inheritance of traits such as Plant height and Flower color led to the development of the Law of segregation and the Law of independent assortment. His findings, although largely unrecognized during his lifetime, laid the foundation for modern Genetics and have had a profound impact on our understanding of Inheritance and Evolution. Mendel's use of Statistics and Experimentation to analyze his data was also groundbreaking, and his work has influenced fields such as Bioinformatics and Ecological limits.
