Relativity

Relativity describes how the laws of Space (physics) and time shift depending on an observer's motion and gravitational environment. Rather than absolute and universal, space and time are interwoven and relative to one's frame of reference—a radical departure from Newtonian mechanics.

Einstein developed two theories. Special relativity (1905) reveals that observers in different inertial frames measure different intervals of time and distance; nothing travels faster than light. General relativity (1915) extends this to gravity, describing it not as a force but as the curvature of spacetime caused by mass and energy—elegantly unified in the field equations.

Relativity reshapes our understanding of the universe's expansion, the behavior of black holes, and the nature of Energy and matter through the famous equation E=mc². GPS satellites must account for relativistic time dilation to function accurately. Though counterintuitive, relativity has been validated by countless experiments and observations.

The theory stands as one of humanity's greatest intellectual achievements—a window into reality's deepest structure.
