Reliability Engineering
Reliability engineering is a subdiscipline of Systems Engineering that focuses on the ability of a system or component to perform its required functions under stated conditions for a specified period of time. It involves the application of Technical drawing, Dimensional Analysis, and Material Science to ensure that systems are designed and built to be reliable. Reliability engineers use various tools and techniques, including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD), to identify and mitigate potential failures. The goal of reliability engineering is to minimize Disease burden and ensure Resilience (ecology) in systems, ranging from Industrial manufacturing to Hydroelectricity and African Wildlife conservation. By applying principles of Probability Theory and Statistical Analysis, reliability engineers can optimize system performance and reduce the risk of Underfitting.
