Seeds

Seeds are plant embryos packaged with stored nutrients, enclosed in a protective coat—nature's vessels for dispersal and survival. They represent a biological strategy of remarkable efficiency: compress a future organism into a dormant form that can wait for optimal conditions, travel vast distances, and resist harsh environments.

A seed contains a developing plant, cotyledons (nutrient stores), and a seed coat that shields against fire, drought, and predators. This design unlocked the success of flowering plants, which now dominate terrestrial habitats worldwide.
