Symbiosis
Symbiosis refers to a close and often long-term relationship between different species, in which one or both species benefit from the interaction, and can be found in various contexts, including Marine Ecology, Soil Microbiota, and Colony formation.
In Ecology, symbiosis can take many forms, such as mutualism, where both species benefit, or commensalism, where one species benefits and the other is not affected, and can be influenced by factors like Nitrogen availability and Solar radiation. The study of symbiosis is important for understanding Complex adaptive systems and the Balance of Ecosystems. Food science also relies on symbiotic relationships, such as those between Honeybees and plants.
