Tea

Tea is a beverage made by steeping dried leaves, buds, or flowers of the Tea Plant in hot water. One of humanity's oldest drinks, tea originated in China and spread across Asia, the Middle East, and eventually the world, becoming deeply woven into countless cultures and rituals.

The most common varieties—Black Tea, Green Tea, White Tea, and Oolong Tea—all come from the same plant species but differ in oxidation levels and processing methods. Herbal infusions, while often called "tea," technically contain no tea leaves and instead use Herbs, Flowers, or other plant materials.

Beyond flavor, tea carries significant chemistry: Caffeine for alertness, L-theanine for calm focus, and countless Antioxidants linked to health benefits. The ritual of tea-making—from Brewing technique to Teapot choice—reflects deep traditions in Japan, India, and Britain, where tea culture shaped commerce, Trade Routes, and History.

Today, tea is the world's second-most-consumed beverage after water, consumed by billions daily. Whether whisked into Matcha, steeped gently, or served ice-cold, tea bridges the ceremonial and the everyday.
