WIMPs
WIMPs, or Weakly Interacting Massive Particles, are a class of particles that are thought to make up part of the Dark Matter in the Cosmos. These particles interact with normal matter only through the weak nuclear force and gravity, making them extremely difficult to detect. The existence of WIMPs is supported by many Scientific theories, including the Standard Model of particle physics and the Lambda-CDM model of the universe. Researchers use highly sensitive detectors, such as those found in Vacuum environments, to search for evidence of WIMPs interacting with normal matter. The detection of WIMPs would be a major breakthrough in our understanding of the Matter and forces that govern the universe. WIMPs are often considered to be Fermions, a type of particle that makes up matter.
