Dark Matter

Dark matter is an invisible form of Matter that comprises roughly 85% of the matter in the Universe, yet remains fundamentally mysterious. Unlike ordinary matter—which interacts with Light through Imaging and Photography—dark matter produces no Radiation and reveals itself only through its gravitational effects.

We know dark matter exists primarily through astronomical observations. Galaxies spin too fast to be held together by visible stars alone; something massive and unseen must anchor them. Similarly, Gravitational Lensing bends light from distant objects in ways that demand far more mass than we can see, and Cosmic Microwave Background patterns confirm dark matter's presence throughout Space.

Despite decades of Research, dark matter's true nature remains unknown. Leading candidates include WIMPs (weakly interacting massive particles) and Axions, hypothetical particles that might be detected through sophisticated experiments. Some physicists propose alternative Gravity theories instead.

Dark matter's influence shapes cosmic structure, affecting everything from Galaxy formation to the universe's ultimate fate. Understanding it represents one of modern Physics' greatest unsolved puzzles—a humbling reminder of how much remains unknown about the cosmos.
