Solar System

The Solar System is the gravitationally bound collection of celestial bodies orbiting our Sun. Born roughly 4.6 billion years ago from a collapsing cloud of gas and dust, it contains eight planets, their moons, asteroids, comets, and countless smaller objects arranged in orbital layers defined by Gravity.

At the center, the Sun accounts for 99.86% of the system's mass, its gravitational dominance organizing everything else. The inner rocky planets—Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars—cluster close in, while the gas giants Jupiter and Saturn orbit further out, followed by the ice giants Uranus and Neptune. Beyond lies the Kuiper Belt, a vast reservoir of icy bodies.

Our Moon orbits Earth, sculpting our tides through gravitational pull. The system's mechanics follow relativistic principles discovered by Albert Einstein, while gravitational forces shape every dance between bodies.

The Solar System isn't static—planets migrate, asteroids collide, and comets streak through from distant regions. Understanding its architecture reveals how planetary systems form throughout the cosmos.
